Frenchgate Interchange
Designed by Carey Jones for Scarborough Developments in partnership with Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
Frenchgate Interchange was the first of its kind in the country to combine purpose built integrated public transport and shopping under one roof. New parking spaces for shoppers and 500 parking spaces for rail users alongside a state-of-the-art bus and coach facility with 30 stands.
As an integral part of the regeneration of Doncaster town centre the scheme was designed to be both striking and functional. Primarily constructed from steel the most dramatic element to the scheme is the great curved wall that overlooks the railway line. Doncaster Frenchgate Interchange is an exciting modern development that complements Doncaster’s heritage yet provides 21st century facilities.
Doncaster Frenchgate Interchange handles an estimated 15,000 customers every day and is a landmark retail destination for Yorkshire offering excellent transport links to the rest of the UK
